Save your money and run what you got.

X2 I agree.

Since you only have 65K miles on the engine, I would just leave the timing chain, lifters and oil pump alone imo.

If you have a 4K converter already then you really could go with a bigger cam than a 222/226.

Well I just read that you didn't want to rev over 6200 so in that case would prob stick with the 222/226. Even with that cam it would like to rev over 6200.

Get you a cam that is spec'd for what you got & want. I really like my cam and they hit what I wanted on the head, plus it was a free spec.

i swapped cams at 130k miles and left the stock oil pump and lifters alone. im at 150k miles now with no issues... i wouldnt worry about them in your low mileage motor...i spin mine to 6750 all the time with no issues

I spin mine 7k. 6500 is a really good safe spot. Just remember you don't have to turn 65-7k everyday. 65-7k is only for when you wanna go fast. Just figured out what you really want before buy a cam. Pitt-man has a low rpm cam that puts out some really good power.

Its always best to get a pushrod length checker when you start changing heads, gaskets and to ls7 lifters.

If it was going to be a basic cam swap and changing out the cam only with new springs of course then most would recommend stock 7.40 length pushrods.

I know you changed your mind on the LS7 lifters, but if you decided to run them they are longer lifters than the stockers and you would more than likely need a shorter than stock pushrod. It all depends man, what all are you going to be running for sure and how thick of head gaskets will you be running?

Let others chime in.

Some people run 7.40 length pushrods with the ls7 lifters and some people 7.350 and this depends on the cam's base circle too.
