ok here's the deal, yea its been a while since i've posted but i'm back. lounging around a local auto shop today i found a 4.8L sitting out back. before i buy the motor i have a few questions that i'm hoping someone on here can answer.

1. what is the CID of a stroke 4.8 and what's all required

2. are ALL lsx heads mountable

3. what's all needed for a carb. conversion

4. what's the stroke of a 4.8 crank

 

1. do you mean CID of stroker? as in 4" stroke or bigger?

2. yes, but some may require a different style intake manifold, like the L92s or LS7s

3. not sure but intake manifold and carb for sure

4. dont remember exactly but there is a chart floating around here somewhere that lists bore stroke and rod length for alls lsx engines

 

stock stroke of a 4.8L is like 3.26". Its the same bore as the 5.3L though.

 

 

Edelbrock makes a carb intake for them and MSD makes a box that will fire the coils. With those, you can put one in almost anything.

 

how much do those carb set ups run and will i need any computers or anything for it to run properly, also what kind of transmissions will mount to it
