Well when you're off the throttle the vacuum is probably pulling the intake in, and when you give it gas the vacuum deceases so the intake appears to expand.

i've seen one of the 102 intake under boost...kind of scarry looking.

i have heaerd of a 102 intake blowing apart under boost.

i love the numbers that the 102 puts on paper, but you wont see that intake on any vehicle i drive until they fix several issues.

Vaccuum sucks the intake down smaller, then opening the throttle reduces the vaccuum causing it to expand.
I remeber his happening with a stock intake that was cut open and ported.

Doesnt sound like it's design is the greatest.

What might those issues be stew..?

The manifold doesnt technically expand, the front top piece by the tb sucks in slightly then returns back to its shape. I havent had any sealing issues that people have been having.

all of the issues i see are around quality. the manifold i looked at on a turbo application looked like a lung breathing. that was keeping it under 3,500 rpm too.

I paid out the wahzoo for it so I'm going to use it till the sucker craters..lol...I'm quite sure talking with comp will render null results ..
I could understand a little flexing under boosted applications but I'm naturally aspirated with 241 heads port n polished flowing about 320 CFM...don't really see why it would flex at all

By the way the reason for the 241 heads is the bigger combustion chambers so I could do a future boosted application... might have to reconsider a different kind of intake.

I had mine on my boosted 5.3 setup didn't see any expanding or being sucked in at all. Post a video if you can. Maybe FAST changed there manufacturing process up a little and making them with thinner walls.
