Default Factory 6.0 'Texas Truck'

I'm up in WA, but I have been hearing about a special addition truck sold in TX and two other states i think that come from the factory with the 6.0.
I keep gettin conflicting information though about if the truck is available on the RCSB platform though. If anyone could give me more info on these trucks I'd REALLY appreciate it. If they are available in an RCSB for the prices that some people are tellin me about then I will be making the drive down to Texas to pick one up and then drive it back home. Any help would be really appreciated.

i think they have the same truck in california. I think only 2500 were made. They have the lq4, 320 hp motor. (i think) The suspension is pretty fucked up if you want to lower it. It has the AWD/4WD suspension but is only a 2WD. Truck is pretty fast for a stock EC. It beats my friends 03 SS with intake, exhaust, and programmer. If they put it in a regular cab, it would probabl really move well.

It's basically a Silverado SS without AWD. They have two versions, the regular Texas Truck: HO 6.0L, torsion bar fronts, towing/handling package, on 20's, all interior options except cloth, then there are the "Spring Specials" which include trucks like mine that are like the Silverado SS's with 5.3's and 2wd, and have all the above options stuff. Mine is called a CA edition and only comes in Indigo Blue (A discontinued color for 04).

I believe I have one of these you are talking about. It is called a Vortec High Output edition. It has the 345 HP LQ9 engine basically on the SS chassis, with a 4L65E tranny, 3.73 gear, G80 and towing and handling packages. It has chrome 20" wheels, Bose sound, Onstar, XM, and cloth interior. The factory was calling this the "Texas Truck" due to its initial availability.

Rob 94Hawk 319 is correct. This is often confused with the "Texas Edition" or the "California Edition" with the 5.3 engine and its special appearance package.

Currently the truck is only an extended cab. Only 957 were made across the Sierra and Silverado lines. The '05 VHOs will be more widely distributed than the '04 model, which was available in only 3-4 states. Let me know if you want more details.

From what I have seen, you can get the VHO in LS and LT levels. I followed a link to some pics of 2 LSs and 2 LTs that a dealership had.
