f body headers in our trucks
#1
howdy folks,,been a while since i have been here,,but am back in the swing of things,,,,my question is,,will a set of f body headers fit in our trucks ?,,,,maybe long tubes,,or shorties,,etc,,i ask this as there is always someone saleing f body headers for relatively cheap,,i figure they would fit as we have more room as opposed to an f body,,but dont want to buy them and it end up as a paper weight,,any experience/comments would be greatly appreciated.,,,thanks,,,,

My guess would be no because the F-body headers angle backwards more than the truck ones do, The trucks have enough clearance for the headers to drop straight down, then turn back, where the F-body angles towards the back of the car. I bet they will have firewall clearance issues. But who knows it may work

I think you will run into frame clearance issues before you run into firewall issues because the truck motor sits alot farther from the firewall than the Camaro motor does....
I have asked this question many times on other boards and have never gotten a srraight answer....I guess one of us will have to become a guinea pig and try to bolt a set on.....

hey if you try it you can always sell them again and break even. I looked at my buddy MAC mids and they look pretty damn close to fitting but I am SKEEEEERRRREEEWD

I have a friend that was swapping an LS1 into a 88-98 truck, and he bought a set of MAC headers that wouldn't fit. They hit the framerail.
Now, I still don't know if they would fit on the NBS truck or not. Hmmm.....
