Default Exhaust: two pipes or one

I am thinking about an exhaust for my truck ('99 sierra 2500). Will one 3" muffler and one 3" pipe coming out in front of the passenger side rear wheel be enough flow, or do I need two mufflers and two pipes. In addition, if I exit my pipes in front of my rear wheel, how much more polishing am I going to have to do to my Alcoas.

That is what I like also. I think that I am going to try outletting the pipe in front of the rear tire this time though.
