Default Exhaust setups?

What have you guys done to exhaust? I have Gibson headers and a Flowmaster dumped just after the final cat? I have seen these valve things that open right up to essentially give open headers good or bad? Also should I just remove the cats and get o2 simms and just run dual pipes. Let me know what u guys are doing Thanx gang!

Right now there is a debate going on as to whether or not to run true duals or single in dual out. I run a true dual system. I also have ASM longtubes. I cut the "Y" pipe and intsalled 2.5" pipes to Flowtech cutouts to a Magnaflow "X" pipe to two 1 in/1 out Magnaflow mufflers.

Those valve things are electric cutout valves http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/ You can get them here. I don't have them. I just manually open mine up by removing the plates. As far as removing the cats...some have, some haven't. If you do, you may need to adjust the fuel pressure a little and definatly run 02 sims. If you do take them out, I would suggest putting flanges on them and building spools to put in thier place. Good luck. LOOK HERE for more exhaust pics.

How do like the Gibson shorties? I was thinking about getting a pair for my next mod. Did they help at all?
Thanks, Jim

I like the gibson headers. Not gonna lie I got them because they are one of the more inexpensive ones, but they are smog legal, I didn't notice to much more of the line pull but from the day I got them I noticed a significanly higher push in the high rpm range. Definetly one of my best mods yet, kind of pain to install it took me about 8 hours working alone so much for my so- calles friends that day.

What about running the 6.0L exhaust with dual electric cutouts on the "Y" pipes. That way you can be quiet when you want and open it up with the flick of a switch.

This is what I'm thinking of doing when I put the big motor in. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

John

PS - You could probably find take offs for cheap from somewhere.(Not sure who sells take off truck exhaust)
