Default exhaust rattle

alright its finally drivin me bananas. at really low throttle like just crawling (I.E. drive thru is where it pissed me off yesterday) it sounds like theres change just rollin around in my exhaust. Now Im baffled because the pipe is tightened down and its got a factory type hangar and no real weight to make it droop or anything (no muffler). So can someone shed light on my situation?

Still got the cats?? My cats rattled around inside for a few months before coming apart and spitting it out the tailpipe. Also, on two different setups, I had the tips rattle from the vibration. I just cut my magnaflow tips off yesterday because they were vibrating bad after the long tube headers.Hope this helps.

The cats rattle all the time on these things. Mines doing it too. I'll be installing some long tubes and getting rid of the cats soon.

Also check the shields that are part of the O2 sensors...they've been known to come loose and create a rattle.

I'm not sure how your trucks are set up, but I had simular problem with mine making noise, I went threw everything and it ended up being the exhaust clamp behind the cat just pass the cross member. I have true duals one side is a flange connection the other is a stainless steel clamp. The clamp had stretched enough to allow the pipe to rattle inside the other. So I would check your clamps if you got any.

hah, we already solved this since I have a direct fit 3in pipe. We've just decided its my cats and left it at that. Im lookin for some LTs and Im either gonna do 2 Purple Hornies mufflers or just straight after the y and call it done

I agree, put a muffler on it. I have a loudmouth one series which is basically straight pipe. I am looking to put a muffler on it. Too much popping and crackling and way too loud.
