Default exhaust question

ok on the new vho I got under their and it looks to me like it's 2.5 piping off of the headers all the way back to the muffler where it goes into one. I am not sure what the magnaflow will sound like but I would like to do the dual in dual out but don't know which one to use. part numbers are 14468* & 14379 & 14568. what do you guys think will sound the best and give me the most performance. I am going to either dump them right out of the muffler or run them infront of the rear tires. any help pics sound clips are appreciated. thanks

Magnaflow sounds good. Real low frequency tone. Rumbly. At any rate with a packed muffler the bigger the case the quieter its going to be. Want louder? Go with a smaller muff. Want quieter? Go with a bigger muff.

I got one with a small case and it was too quiet for me. I put a dynomax bullet on my truck. I then put the magnaflow on my moms 99 Escalade. Sounds real good behind a Vortec 350.

Let us know how that muffler works out for you. I have real concerns around in-cab resonance around 2000 rpm. I can already hear some with my stock muffler on the highway. It doesn't bother most people, but if it were any louder it would bother me. My '02 with the 4.8l had it bad when I changed the stock muffler on it.

Also let me know if it feels like you lost some low end performance. I love the fact that I can really turn these 20" wheels over for a couple of seconds when I want to!

I have been considering trying the Flo-Pro HD muffler. It is harder to find and costs more, but is not supposed to resonate.

I recently replaced an Imco Turbo muffler with the 22" Magnaflow on my 4.8L Sierra. At idle, it sounds good...just a little louder than stock. Under acceleration, it sounds REAL good but not too loud. There is practically no resonance in the cab, unlike the Imco or the Flowmaster 40 I had previously. Maybe it's my imagination, but I feel like I picked up some of the low-end torque that I lost with the Imco.
