Question

That's strange... Similar cams, similar exhaust... mine doesn't pop. I don't even want to make a suggestion in fear of looking even more dumb.

Default Mine did that..

i turned it down over the axle with a single 3inch and no more pop. The tips make it sound like that with the small pipes.

Nope, too busy with overheating, electric fan problems, and tuning. I'll look into it soon however.

Thats just the thing. I dont have tips. I simply have 2- 2.5" pipes comming out and turned 90 degrees behind the wheel. (like stock) It looks like **** but im gonna get some tips for it as soon as i get the popping taken care of. Im gonna put some cutouts on it cuz its too quiet for me. Gonna get some electrics some day but i think ill do nitrous first. I guess when im having the exhaust guy do the cutouts, ill have him throw some bullets on as well.

Kyle, Im buying some 7.425" pushrods from another Kevin so ill let you know if its just a pushrod length problem. I bet Ed's base circles are smaller.

Well, I'm using SBC lobes out of the Comp catalog. Both base circles measured out to 1.4375. Running this thru a calculator told me I needed .00075'' longer pushrods. This is using a 1.553'' base circle for the stock lobes. IDK... With 30 thousands shaved off and a .043'' gasket, I'll need 7.398'' pushrods so, I'll be using 7.4s with the new heads. But again, IDK at this point. Keep me up to date. Oh yeah, I still gotta see what is up with the rockers. Maybe I did something wrong here. BTW, I'm still using the stock pushrods.

Yea I had the same problem, my truck would sound like a 75 Furd with glasspacks on it at about 2500 RPM's and it really got on my nerves. It was not all the time just at certain RPM's when the motor had a load on it. Pretty much just normal driving conditions. It sounded good at WOT. I put on a Hooker Aerochamber and the noise went away.

Do you remember my base circle? From what a buddy of mine said, the ls1 has .015" preload(i think thats right. ) I was contemplating trying to find a 7.415" pushrod. What would .01" more length in a pushrod do besides add more lifter preload? Negative affects?
