exhaust leak cause a sputter??
#1
Hello, my truck has been driving fine, and then i went to an oil change shop. After they changed my oil the truck developed a small sputter. It never did this before and when i had them inspect the truck they discovered a large exhaust leak where my manifold connects to my exhaust piping.
The sputter only lasts for a few seconds after a start up, and then the computer seems to adjust and it runs fine without any sputter.
So could this leak be my problem? Or did the lube shop **** up my truck?
Serves me right for not doing my own work.

It might be, the oxygen sensors might be seeing air that gets sucked into the leak, you need to fix it anyway. Probably, but they might have only stripped your drain plug.

Anyhow, thanks for the heads up. Tomorrow i'm gonna get under the truck and try to fix the exhaust leak. Worse comes to worse i'll have a local shop fix it w/ a much needed new muffler.
