Default exhaust leak

a couple of months ago i put metal gaskets on my pacesetter shorties. While i was at it i replaced the collector gasket on the driver side but used a paper gasket. i dont think the leak is coming from the heads and the headers because i used lock tight on the header bolts and made sure to let it dry for 24 hours. i think its coming from the collector. not sure. does anybody have any useful information? i heard when you use paper gaskets that u should let them soak in water over night to make them soft and sticky. i dont know if this true. any useful info would be helpful.

thanks

I dunno if its a good idea or not but spray some water underneath on your collectors or anywhere else you suspect a leak and then start it up. My leaks bubble when they're wet
