Put on true duals on my 5.3 yukon today......x-pipe into 18" sweet thunder mufflers, coming out of the passenger side before the rear tire. It sounds like a monster....at idle, its nice and tame, but once you step on the gas, all hell breaks loose...

It's a somewhat refined sound, but very thunderous and deep....too loud for me. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here??

 

Magnaflow. I've had mine for about a week. I love it, its quiet while cruising (have to listen for it, or you don;t know its there) but when you get on it, you know its there.

 

Also try a larger can. Perhaps a 20-22" can, anything less will be loud.

 

Problem with the noise is where you have it exiting i used to have a custom exhaust that exited there looks cool but to much resonance i bet if you put a tailpipe on and run it past the rear axle u would like it

 

Yes exit it out the back and if that still isnt enough then get a 22" magnaflow it will be quieter.

 

Mine is exited in the same place. Its single 3" though, not sure how much that matters. But if you exit it out the back it will be quieter.
