Default exhaust help

The shop that the dealer had fix my exhaust when i blew the driveshaft cut the flange off the factory y-pipe and welded the new intermediate pipe to the y-pipe. Now the muffler broke where the front pipe connects to it. So I'm thinkin of either gettin a new y-pipe from Chevy($484+ $50 core) and fixin the muffler or gettin longtubes and fixing the exhaust. So which would be smarter.

1. new factory y-pipe and fix the muffler (around $750)
2. pacesetter L/Ts and ORY and fix the muffler (around $750)
or
3. dynatech L/Ts and y-pipe and fix the exhaust (around $1500)

Of the choices you listed, I would just go with the pacesetters and put a 3" single exhaust afterwards. You can buy certain cat-backs pretty cheap. Another option would be to cut your stock
Y-pipe off. (leave the pipe from the manifolds back to where the factory Y merges)
You could then have a true dual setup with 2.5" piping. Just run 2 pipes back to a muffler of your choice. (dual inlet/dual outlet, or dual inlet/single outlet) I recommend magnaflow with the true X core. The latter choice would save some cash, but just find a shop who does good work.

I have a RST,so it has an after-cat system on there now and i like the way it sounds so im just orderin a new muffler and intermediate pipe from Regency. But i want to see if its worth while to upgrade to L/T
