Default exhaust cut out question

are the cutouts worth getting? have you noticed any gains? i am thinking of redoing my exhaust this summer and was thinking about putting in a cutout. i was also going to do it right before the muffler. any thoughts on that?

Yes, so much so I have three.

Yes, three...the 2-2 1/2" cutouts are at the header collectors, the single 3" is after the Y. The 3" is for an electric cutout and the others I open up at the track only.

hey richard, since you dont have cats, have you ever dyno'd with the 2 cutouts open, vs the 1 open after the y-pipe? just curious what kind of gains it was from doing them before the y-pipe instead of one after it

no...never thought about it. I guess I'll add that to the things to do next time on the dyno. I'll post my findings after the 5/11 dyno day.

I ordered one and it will be here on Fri. I mainly want it to sound mean as hell. I have a PV muffler on, so I am not sure if I will notice any gains. After hearing OXIDIZR at Carlsbad, I had to get one.

it would probably be cheapest to pick one up from one of the sponsors (obviously <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ) around houston just because with the ammount of money they cost its cheaper to pay taxes than to pay shipping. i know mti keeps them in stock, im sure some of the others do as well.
