Default Exhaust ceramic coatings

Is there anything worth a hoot?

I'm not interested in show & shine.
I'm interested in something that actually reduces under hood temps

For my application a header wrap is not going to work

If you drive in snow then stainless is the only way to go.

If it is a vehicle for nice weather it will hold up and perform as advertised.

You didn't specify tube headers or exhaust manifolds, so I'm going to share here. My application is an early SUV, and the exhaust are LS-2 exhaust manifolds from a Cadillac.

ePowder Coating in Mesquite, TX did the work a year or two ago. I have been very happy with them. YMMV.

Yea, I know that stainless can rust. that said, the rust I have encountered on stainless is significantly less than I see on regular steel.

I'm intrigued now, can you post a couple of pics?

That said, is this on your one and only driver?

I'm aware that removing & reinstalling an exhaust component is never a walk in the park, and some vehicles are worse than others.

Stainless headers ought to be worth saving though. Could you not pull them, have them media blasted, ceramic coated then reinstall them?

Either way, I bet that's a corner you never cut again!

I can take some tomorrow my headers are LPP long tubes. LPP is a sponsor but I would not buy from them every again! Had alot of clearance issues and tried to contact them many times without ever reaching anyone by phone or email.

That being said they still look really good from the engine bay but if you look through the wheel well or under neith its riddled with cancer. If they fit better I would have already had them coated but Eventually I will go turbo and not need them anymore.

Understood.....enough said.

Hope the turbo comes sooner than later for you.

I have fought enough poorly fitting headers in my life that I didn't want them in my Scout. Against my builders advise, who wanted for me to purchase a quality set of headers, I went with a set of LS-2 exhaust manifolds, and I am happy to have them.
