Default Exhaust is about to get redone

I plan on doing my exhaust first. I'm not sure what I am going to do with my motor.

I'm debating either building up the 4.8 or swapping in an LS1 or LQ9.

I'll be happy with mid-low 14's in the 1/4 so, nothing TOO too serious here.

Anyway.

I'm looking at Pacesetter QuickTrip LT's either ceramic coated or painted, not sure what yet? Or the difference except price.

Pacesetter ORY /w 3" Intermediate Pipe (I'm assuming this is the same as the I-Pipe?)

Right now I have an 18" glasspack on the truck and its dumped after the axel. I plan on keeping that on there for now, until I get real muffler back there.

Would a 3" single exhaust set up be TOO MUCH if I keep the 4.8L? and at the same time.. would it be NOT ENOUGH if I go with an LS1 or LQ9?

A built up 4.8 is more than enough to get you in the low to mid 14's depending on size and weight of the truck. But you'll probably be happier with an LS1 or 6.0. As far as the exhaust goes, a single 3in will do you just fine for either applications. If you keep the 4.8 I would suggest 4.10's or better along with a higher stall, preferably around 3000. Also being in the Carolina's, it would be wise to go for a stainless steel header. But if you choose not to the pacesetter ceramic LT's will do just fine. Be advised though that on the coast here, rust is a serious issue. Good luck on your build boss.

Thanks bro. I'll look into the stainless steel headers...

I'm not sure which motor I'm gonna be doing, I'll be building up everything with only an occasional small part on the motor, it'll give me more time to think about it.
