Exhaust
#1
As some may no i have a 97 chevy with the 5.7 i am wondering can i take my cat's off and run 2.5 inch exhaust and still have enough back pressure for my old 350.
This truck is about to under go a 383 conversion and the goal is 450 - 500 hp So i want this thing to be able to breath. Maybe i can leave my exhaust how it is now. 2.5 all the way to the back tires then 2 inch from there true dualed. Minus cat and mufflers. What do yall think. My main concern is back pressure.
Keep in mine i live in florida we dont have emission law's here. Just noise law's But a couple 70 dollar tickets with no points has never hurt anybody

you should with an X pipe. I dont really see why not. And even so, if you have a small loss with the 350 you're prepared for the 383. Im running a 3 in y into a 3 in back and I get some popping on the free way on decel so I've got enough back pressure. I would imagine if I did 3in with an X I would be just fine

So pop = back pressure. Danm i just learn something new. And fill like a complete dumbass cause i should have known that. Ive always heard true duals where the way to go. Why x pipe it and make it 1 single.
Not trying to argue or disagree just trying to learn.
