Default Exhaust ?

I have a 01 2500HD with a Flowmaster 70 series catback, I am soooo damn tired of the interior noise , that I am thinking of putting my stock muffler back on. Do you guys think that I will hurt my performance any? I don't know how well the stock muffler flows. I would get a magnaflow or flopro but I just spent $800.00 on Nelson Tune, E-fans, and ASP pulleys, so I am broke now .

Save your pennies and get a Corsa cat back when you can. I had a 70 series Flowmaster on my truck before it rusted thru. Corsa is friggin loud when you get on, great sound at idle and whisper quiet at cruise.

I just got at FloPro 2503 on my 2500 and I can't notice any rumble at all. It's a quiet as stock. There may be a little burble at 2000 rpm otherwise it's silent, the tires make more noise. I've been told that they gain a little sound after they "season" or break-in. If you want quiet, this is the muffler.

For the muffler, 3" tailpipe (since 2500LDs come with a 2-3/4" tailpipe) and reuse my high dollar Corsa tip, installed: $300.26.
No one around here has any deals on the FloPro big oval mufflers. Have you checked thier site? They also have a dual outlet muffler that will make more rumble. How much rumble, I don't know.

I really feel better about not getting the Flowmaster 70 series, I almost had a muffler guy talk me into it. He says he puts them on at least 5 trucks a week with no problems. Glad I stayed away from the FM.

Corsa does make one for the 2500HD, but the system for your truck is about $900 thru Corsa. You might be able to save a couple hundred through Jim Pace Pontiac. They have a website. That's were I got my tip. The Corsas on trucks that I have heard and ridden in are as they say: Loud when you want it, quiet when it needs to be. That's what I wanted, but they don't make it for the 2500LD.

Corsa is just too expensive for me at this point. I am going to get my tb port/polished and the flo pro and I will most likely be threw modding my engine, I don't want to go internal on it, think I will save up some cash for some mods to my next ride hopefully a 04 Cobra or 05 GTO.
