engine swap
#1
I have a 1999 GMC seirra rcsb with a 5.3L. I want to swap for a LQ9 6.0L. I have a budget of 7500 to 8500. I need everything engine, electronics, trans, rear gears/locker, and some performance upgrades. Does anyone have suggestions as far as a parts list. What is the best I can do with my budget? Thanks

I see this is your first post. Welcome! Just to warn you, this site is addictive.
Now back to your question; With that much money you can do A LOT. Throw a 6.0 in there with some boost on top of it. Have a motor built. Put in a stock 6.0 with a few bolt-ons. I would recommend reading some of the post here and using the search button to get an idea of what can be done. Also if you dont have a posi track that should be your first mod.

Just done it, only with the lq4. Use everything off of your 5.3L, unless you can't for some reason. I love it because you can't tell the difference in my 6.0l and my old 4.8L under the hood. It even has 4.8L on the radiator shroud!!!
