Default Engin and trany in a 1988 chevy

I want to put a LS1 and a six speedtrany out of a WS6 trans am but I don't know what all I will need to do

preparation of a new hole being ripped........ try the search button..... ill sum it up for you off the top of my drunken head.... harness and computer from ws6...or any ls based engine harness like 99+ silverado... fuel pump and gas lines... maybe a tune... others will chime in... im only a know it all when it comes to putting an 08 motor into an 02.... good luck tho

Sounds like a cool swap...aside from the previously mentioned PCM and harness, I'm going to guess that you'll need custom motor mounts (there are companies who offer swap mounts), a modified tranny crossmember and I'm assuming shortened driveshaft, and hopefully someone can chime in on the exhaust, as far as what headers will work if any. You could try LS1Tech in the conversions and hybrids section (I think that's what it's called), there's a lot of LSx swap info there
