Anybody use an electric water pump?
Can you run fan clutch with it and does keep motor as cool as serpentine driven water pump

Bonji has one on his truck and no i have not seen any with the ability to run a fan clutch. as far as cooling i have never heard him complain about it not being able to cool his supercharged 408 in his SSS

I wonder why more of the high dollar builds don't use a 55 gal pump too. I know our stock pumps flow fine and don't get in the way but man I have a 55 on my mustang and it pumps like crazy.

the cost compared to HP gains is not really worth it. but that is just my opinion. the other thing i worry about is how long are the motors good for? if one fails you can wreck a motor. secondly just because your belts are not turning a pump doesnt mean your alternator is not picking up that load so you still loose some power.

Yea I figured the hp was minimum gains if any I just have seen the elec pumps for a while now and never seen one used except on drag cars so since I've never seen anybody around here with one it made me want to use one and I thought about the durability two but if your water pump goes out or your belt comes off you can wreck an engine just as fast

I think on the dyno back to back I picked up ~12 rwhp going from mech pump and fan to to ele pump and fan Having a good alt is key w any performance vehicle. My sbf was about 450 but ls pumps are 750 bucks. Which I think is crazy.
