Electric fan question

Default Electric fan question

i have a 00' silverado w/the fan clutch. if i have a electric fan assembly out of an 05'-07' truck will it bolt directly like the shroud does or will i have to fabricate brackets? also are the fan harnesses nelson performance sells the best way to go wiring it? gettin tired of the tornado sound!

You have the 28" rad, you need the 34"

so 292 flex-a-lite fan kit that fits the 28" radiators a good bet?

The LS1 fans are OEM and are better (found on 98-02 camaro, trans am). They fit perfect and work great with the nelson or blackbear harness.

IMO, if you already have the 05-07 fans, it would be much easier and better overall to just get the larger rad. It will be a direct replacement, and have better cooling ability.

Swapping in a 34" rad is no big deal, it's a direct swap and all you'll need is 2 more bolts like the ones that are already holding the current rad in, so you can secure the 05+ efans to the radiator support. I got my radiator brand new from radiatorbarn.com about 5ish years ago, and found out from a buddy here that their 34" rads are actually now about $100 cheaper than when I bought mine. Search threads started by "fastnblu", he has an excellent 05 efan write up There might even still be a link to the thread in his sig
