Default EGR conundrum

I went on Speed Eng. and realized they made 2 types of Pacesetter headers. So the "full race" headers dont have EGR provisions. What are the benefits of no EGR? is it better to run EGR since I wont have cats? anything I should be prepared for or anything that should make me feel to keep my EGR? Someone shed some light please, the search didnt help me

The headers with egr's are usually universal and made with provisions for egr to cover more bases. We do not need the egr bung for our set-up. I had some shorties on my old 2000 gmc that had the egr bung and I just had it welded to fill the bung.

I didn't know they made pacesetters without the EGR for ours. Mine has it, it just came with a block off plate since my truck doesn't have EGR. You can actually hard wire a wideband into your EGR port if you don't use EGR any more. It's a cheap way to get around having to upgrade to HPTuners Pro.

The benefits of no EGR? Well the first thing is you won't have to hire a chimineysweep to clean your intake manifold and throttlebody once a year. If you like having your entire intake system coated with soot leave the EGR in place. I like having my exhaust gases going out the tail pipe. My intake is so clean the local board of health put a gold star by my name like your teacher used to do in kindergarden. You might guess I don't use EGR.
