I have been wondering the same thing, I would think that reprogramming would be involved. It would be practical of you buy a set of headers that doesnt have the port for it. I really don't like the idea of exhaust being pumped back into my intake either.....

Dont know what other states req. you to have and test for visual and tail pipe inspection.
Removed all,cut off all plugs and heat shrinked ends.Tucked wires backed into factory loom.
Can't tell i ever had it.

You can delete it with a custom tune, just cap off at the header like suggested.
Or, there is a free mod you can do that has shown to give up 10+ HP. Remove the tube from the intake manifold. You will see where the tube goes into the airflow path by quite a bit. Just cut off the tube at the shoulder ( sorry no pic, but you will see it once removed, it is the portion that has two oval slots cut into it ). This allows much better flow and will not set off any codes.
