What criteria did GM use to dictate which trucks got the 34" radiator? Heavy duty? Suburban? 6.0L?

I figured the 6L or big SUVs might get em, but who knows. I think GM waited til I bought my truck to say they'd come out w/ efans in 05.

I know that HD's and trucks with 6.0's (SS, VHO, etc.) got the 34" rad, then in 05 it was standard on the 1500's also as they went to efans...

I haven't seen the LT1 fans, but I have heard of them being used. Most everyone uses the LS1 fans, not sure they might be one in the same. Hopefully someone will chime in on that.

I'm waiting on Blackbearperformance to get my tune done, so I have a 2 relay setup on my LS1 fans with a toggle switch to turn them on and off. With my tune from Blackbearperformance I'm going with his harness and overdrive alternator pulley.

oops I think I ment LS1 fans...I looked on Ebay and both LT1 and LS1 fans are on there and they both say they are 28.5" wide....if there a big down side to having 6" less rad. space???...I only tow my tractors to the pull like 3 times a year and its only 6 miles each way so that really isnt a big deal...

I'm going efans, I have'em sitting on the bench in the garage, they're from an '02 Camaro. My cost was $100 for the fans and $75 for the harness. hing I hate about teh old clutch fan is that it sounds like a Cessna on a hot/ warm day and I'm irked to all hell that all my power is going to turn that damn thing! You can really feel it, too after some slow going then sitting at a stop for a minute or so..............................

Edit; oh yeah, and I turned'em on in the PCM with HP Tuners..........

When I listed various fans several posts back, I should said, I've heard LT1 fans could be used, but I haven't tried em.

See my comment above. I think I'll stick w/ Gen3 stuff, but heard some $ could be saved by gettin LT1 fans, prolly since they're older parts.
