Default ECT -40 ? Bad Sensor?

I made a quick blast in the truck tonight after putting the intake piping back together. Boost controller was hooked up wrong and I over boosted it and blew a pipe out of the fitting.

Took it down the highway at 50 and gave it about 85% throttle according to my log and it nailed 210kpa within a few frames. Just as I was letting off the gas I got 8 degrees of KR. It ran fine for about 300 more yards or to the top of the exit ramp. Then I got a reduced power DTC that had a MAP/Throttle positon out of range or something. I cleared the DTC's and it still ran like crap all the way home (2miles). I notice my ECT was now at -40C and my timing dropped and fluctuated between -10 and 3 degrees. Most likely the reason it was running like crap. (Hope I didn't blow her up)

I checked the connection to the ECT and it appears to be fine. Could one take a dump just like that? Seems pretty weird...

If you have a ohm meter check the resistance across the actual sensor plugs. If it's high like over 100,000 ohms then the sensor it probably bad. It should be between 9400 ohms @ 32F to 177 ohm @ 212F.

Either that or you could probably check the resistance on the ECT wires that go back to the computer to see if one got burned through or is broken. Just test each one from the ECT sensor end to the PCM pin end. The signal wire(yellow?) goes to pin 74 on the blu PCM connector. The ground wire(Gray?) goes to pin 63 on the blu PCM connector according to the manual.

Sounds like a nice little electrical gremlin to track down.

How did 15psi feel on the 408(still?) while it lasted?

Thanks for the help I'm going out now to test the ECT.

15lbs its a good feeling At 2 bar it should be 900 horse or so and it feels like it is...

Boost spools up quickly as long as the rpms are over 3k, but my tune is still soggy on the bottom end. So I can say yet if the GT42 is to big for a rear mount with my setup.
