In a 2004? That may be true in a perfect world, however a good fuel pump is a great investment as soon as motor mods begin. A good fuel pump can help reduce IDCs which most cam+LT builds will result in high IDCs which means you can spend $100 on a pump vs $400 on a set of injectors.

Fbody efans here with the stock 28" radiator. No issue keeping it cool even with the fans on low.

My 99 had a 28 inch radiator and I wanted the most stock appearing and functioning setup I could get. I put a 34 inch two row core radiator in it and the original hoses and transmission cooler lines actually fit better on the 34 inch radiator vs the 28 inch. Go figure. The fans were a set of Dorman 07+ new body style fans off ebay. For some reason the 05-07 classic fans were $400+ and the 07+ new body style which are virtually identical and fit just the same were only $170 shipped. I have tested the high speed fans to verify that they work but they have never once came on in the 2 years they've been installed. Even in 115 degree heat idling at Sonic the AC blew ice cold and it stayed right at 195 degrees. The best part is when you open the hood if you didn't know it didn't come that way you would never suspect its not a factory setup.

The stock fuel pump is around 200 LPH. Walbro 255 is 255 LPH so not a whole lot of gains to be had. It just doesn't seem necessary until maybe over 400 rwhp. I've seen a cam/ported heads LQ9 make 450 at the wheels in a 99 rcsb with stock fuel pump, and my 4.8 made 335 with stock pump.

And Oldred95 that's the exact setup I'm doing. I just got the radiator and still need to order the fans and Nelson harness. Good to hear someone had good luck with the Dorman fans, those are the ones I'm getting. However, TYC 05-07 fans can be had for 150 shipped, but they have 5 and 7 blades like the stock ones on those trucks and the 07+ fans have dual 7's or 7 and 9.

Aside from wiring, are the 34" radiator and e-fans 100% bolt in?

Yes.

I would have to check and see. I thought mine had a 5 blade and a 7 blade fan. The Dormans seem to be ok but the first one I got the shroud was cracked right down the middle between to the two fans. The "plastic" seemed to be very fiberous and brittle and the box had been smashed at some point. Contacted the place I got them from and I think I had to pay return shipping but that was it. The second fan set looked much better and has been working great for 2 years.
