I'm not mocking him, I tried on my 03 with 6.0 lq4. With the shroud almost directly on the radiator it blocked enough air to run 240 while driving. Chillax dude

cool man

been looking to do fans but didnt want to fork the dough out for them.

This seems like a effective and cheap way to have fans.

Would it be nessary to get a tune after doing this?

It depends on how you wire it. His are wired to two toggle switches, one for each fan, inside the cab. so no tune would be needed. On mine I used a relay to automatically turn one one fan when I turn the key on and the other fan is wired to a switch on my socal diesel gauge pod. Both setups work great. you could get a wiring harness form neilson, or blackbear and get the pcm tuned to turn the fans on/off

Cool! Thanks Andy!

I will probably leave them on a switch.

Any hp being lost by not tuning for e fans?

No problem. Make sure to get two switches if your going to use both on switches. they are only rated to about 15A and will melt and cause a nice smoke show.
No, you'll actually gain about 3-5hp because the engine no longer has drag caused buy the stock clutch fan. But tuning it will yield even more hp if its not already tuned.
