Im in the market for a new exhaust and with the prices of a custom setup nearing a catback price im looking at both options...

I had the Dynomax catback with turbo muffler and dual rear outs in my 01 5.3 silvy. Nice rumble, but loud drone in that 2k rpm range. Held up for a few winters then rusted out this year. Replaced it with a flowmaster american thunder series. Not too expensive for the sport side output, better bottom end tq, deeper healthier sounding rumble, not obnoxiously loud, and no drone! Honestly I thought I was happy with what I got for what I paid with the dynomax until I got the flowmaster. The dynomax just doesn't compare. Installing it, the flowmaster just looked and felt like better quality and craftsmanship too.

I run a Super Turbo in line with my Hooker AeroChamber.
Total setup is:
1-3/4" Ebay stainless longtubes w/2.5" collectors into 3"+ Y pipe with no cats,
3" intermediate pipe into AeroChamber, into 3" Dynomax Super Turbo with dual 2.5" tailpipes.
All but headers was custom done locally.
I tried a Dynomax complete catback on my 2002 Z71 and had same results as on two previous trucks...Fitment was the worst ever, and longevity simply didn't exist. I like their muffler's sound, but their pipes are garbage. Super thin gauge metal and they rust rather quickly in my experience with them.
