true, that torque seems good considering the drivetrain loss from a 80E/14bff

The dyno numbers I made were off of a dynojet. Sorry I didn't mention that before. I know I'm gonna have lots more drivetrain loss than the 1500 trucks, but with tuning shouldn't I be making a lot closer to 300 rwhp or is that too much to hope for? Also, wouldn't it make a difference if I dynoed the truck with 245's on the rear tires instead of 285's? I also only have 3.73's.

Not to mention that a custom tune on LQ9 trucks already running LQ9 operating systems have shown near 30 HP, even without mods. You stand to make a good jump in HP from a tune!!!

The current computer I have in the truck is a mail order westers tune I got for my LQ4. The place I got the truck dynoed told me that they could dyno tune the truck right there using hp tuners. I think the money I spend right here will actually pay for itself due to the poor mileage I have had since the engine swap. I have been getting 9 in the city 12 on the freeway, empty. My old engine with the tune got 11 in town and 16 on the highway unloaded.

So I went ahead and dropped my truck off for dyno tuning on wednesday. The guy called me today and said after he disconnected the battery to reset the computer it picked up 10hp and 15tq. When I did the exhaust, I put flanges in so that I could take it apart if I wanted to. Turns out those have been leaking contributing to the truck leaning out. I don't really see a reason why I will need to be messing with my exhaust anymore, so I just told him to weld it up so he could keep tuning it. Its supposed to be done by tommorow afternoon so I'll post dyno #'s as soon as I get it.

So I went over to the tuning place today to pick up the truck. The guy said he is still working on it but so far he really hasn't made any more power than the first dyno run I made. He said every time he tries to increase the timing the knock sensors are going off at like 17 degrees at 5200. I really feel like an LQ9 ought to be making more power than 260 rwhp and 305-308rwtq. This guy says he has tuning experience on these motors, but most of the work he does is on mustangs so I dunno. I gave him the other computer I had to try that one, but I don't really think thats gonna make a difference. Anybody have any suggestions? Do you really think thats all the power I can make? Its not cheap for dyno tuning, so if I come out with the same numbers going in, then its gonna just be like money down the drain.
