Seen many posts lately on swapping alternators to higher amp ones.
I did some web surfing and found this
http://www.caraudiomag.com/technical...ae_alternator/
What do you guys think?
Or did I miss the thread where this was already discussed?

yes i have seen that before but it was for the older body trucks. i did not know they made one for our trucks. the thing is that the people that are doing that are using alot of power for their systems. so i do not believe that any of us need something like that unless we are trying to put a bad a** system in our trucks. it is a sweet setup but i feel not needed unless you nave major power needs.

Having 2 alternators would rob HP? How much?
If you ran dual 200A's (one for stereo, one for acc) and had everything on like fans, a/c, headlights, aux lighting, couple JL 1000/1's, a 300/4, a 300/1 playing some loud *** music, on at the same time you'd pull some mad amperage...that's about the only time I could see needing two alt's...then again you can just run that 200A and a few yellow top's and be okay.
Dual alt's look bad ***, when I get my DMax I am gonna try to order just the brackets for the extra alt so I can run a duals just to say "ha, look what I got"

I don't like the way they made you remove a brace on the passenger side fender for the second battery. That is critical to the integrity of the truck in a frontal crash. It helps keep the finder from getting to far out of place, like in the passenger compartment or something like that.
Other that that .. I wouldn't see needing it unless you were pulling some made amperage like hit man said.
