Dry Shot and Hypertech HPPIII together??
I need help with my Nitrous Dry shot. I want to know if I can run a 75 shot (maybe 100 at MOST) on my 5.3 with my HPPIII Hypertech on the 93 tune? I plan on running some 100 GT gas from Sunoco at the time, but aren't sure if I should knock the Hypertech program out of it totally, run the 87 octane tune, or keep the 93 octane tune. I'm hoping to run a 13 anything. I also made a nice bottle mount that actually slides into the 2x4 slots in my bed so that no holes were drilled into the bed anywhere. I ran the line up thru the hole into the stake pocket and then down under the passenger side of the truck inside the frame rail. I was just barely long enuff due to the extended cab. I mounted the solenoid under the hood brace on the passenger side. I will take some pics tomorrow in the daytime and post pics later tomorrow night if anyone is interested. Thanks.

That's not a good idea. The Hypertech tuner adv. your timing for better performance. When you run N2O you want to retard your timing, and no matter what type of tune you run you need at the very least 93 oct. fuel. Post some pics of the install I would like to see how it turned out! That should be some low 13 times, no sweat!

With a dry shot I would take the tuning off just to be safe. I'm running 30* timing with a rich 100 wet shot on 91 octane and I get no knock according to EFI Live. Post pics!!!

Yea I am running a wet kit and I have HPP3. I took out the 93 octane tune and put the 87 octane tune in. I ran a 13.53 with that tune. I still used the shift points and the shift firmness and the thermostat setting since I have a 160 temp thermostat.

You will be ok with the 87 octane tune. Just run 93 octane when you plan on spraying.

Thanks! And I'll post some pics tomorrow night of the install and such, as its way too dark now. I'm using a handheld button which I keep tucked away under the cup holder in the center console (pops right out) so I can get off of the nitrous when shifting. I'm hoping to at least NOT hurt the trans. Not that I don't care about the motor...but I got a spare...and need motivation to get off of my *** and get it in! I've really been dragging my feet on that one. It's just that this 5.3 runs so good...I haven't really been over-anxious to get the 6.0L put in, and I haven't really had the time needed.
