Default Dry shot hepl (Random Problem?)

Im running a very basic dry shot with a single fan type fogger through the MAF like a NOS5177 type kit. I ran this kit last summer/race season with out problem (that I know of). The only changes that I have made to my set up sense last summer are..

A new MAF from a rented 04 Tahoe. I de-screen my original.
A different nitrous bottle. An older style that I got so I wouldn’t have to barrow anymore
And
An Autometer rich/lean gauge. So Im not spraying blind

Now when I hit the nitrous sometimes it goes DEAD lean and the motor will either stumble or run mostly normal without any noticeable lose or increase in power.?

I have not yet notice a pattern as to when and why it goes lean. Any ideas? Im going to the track this Friday and would like to get it solved before I hurt something and have to do a motor swap.

You don't have the nozzle to close to the maf do you? If you do you can freeze it and the maf won't be getting the proper readings.

I would pull the nozzle out and spray it into the air to see if there are any clogs in it.

The same thing you are discribing happened to me when i first got my N2O on my truck. When i sprayed it would take off, then all the sudden it would fall off and kinda sputter. I ended up regapping my plugs to .35 and moved my MAF to the TB so it wouldnt freeze. No problems since then.

BTW, it could just be your plugs gapped to far. With much boost or spray its possible to "blow the spark out" with too much gap. Try checking that first since its free and only takes a few minutes.

If I was haveing spark blow out woulnt I go super rich? The fogger is about 14 inches from the MAF. Now that I think about it it is comon to de-screan your MAF for nitrous. Any one know why it is recomended to de-screen the MAF?
