it will drop right into the 99 pretty easy. If you get the V8 truck FEAD, and intake you will be good to go. The other big issue you will have is a engine harness, the V6 harness will fall short of 2 injectors. If you can find a 9 RCSB with a 4.8 it would be a easier swap IMHO.

If you had a 4.8 truck it is a weekend project to drop an LS1 in.

the V6 to V8 swap can be done in a weekend if you have everything. Although it would be cheaper if you started from a v8.

Cost range for motor swap around 4000-5000 thats not playing around with stock stuff though, this includes tune, headers, mounts, harness modification etc.

cost to do a v8 to v8 swap is around 1500-1700 cheaper if you go with headers tune etc.

If you use stock stuff it can be done for 1500.00

Sorry for stealing the thread here. I have a 00 4.8 I would love to drop a 6.0 in. Its an auto trans, and I have the 4l80e tranny. I'm just wondering the extend of the work for the swap and cost.
