Default Driveshaft problem cure!

I have a 00 silverado z71 and there is a ton of slack in the driveline, when i go into corners or leave a light, it's like it slaps. It's usually a loud thud, like a crack. I am almost positive it's the driveshaft and it is loose somewheres. Is there a permanent fix to this? Would i be able to get a driveshaft out of a 02-03 silverado and replace it? correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm sure GM would have fixed a problem like this following 2000....anyway, please help me out...
