Default Dowel pins and head gasket

Got a set of LS1/ls6 cometic head gaskets. I have an L33 so those are the correct one. But the head gasket won't go over the dowel pins. It's just a hair too small for the dowel. Anyone have this issue?

About a 18mm socket and a gentle tap with a BFH

I gave the dowel pins a good squeeze and the gaskets fell right on.
