i think you might gain 10hp. some might say 15.

you will lose low end acceleration due to the loss of back pressure, but gain some high end.

same with CAI

Keep it quiet. I'm not sure exhaust is really worth a whole lot on a stock truck.

Get a pulley, intake, e-fans, tune, torque converter, etc for now. Truck should wake up pretty good with that stuff and still be quiet.

I wish I would have stayed stock as I like it quiet, too. Even though I probably have one of the quietest aftermarket exhausts out there, I still wish I would have stayed with the original system.

You could always put a cutout before the muffler with a quick time performance electric cutout so at the flip of a switch you can have loud or stock, pretty fun to fool the cops around here with as my buddy has this set up on his '04 4.8 silverado. It should be about $30 for a 3" flowtech cutout and $150 for the quicktime, so for under $200 you got yourself a neat little set up.

You won't gain that much from a cat back system, but it is a good starting point. If your only objective is speed, I would start with a custom tune and a 3000 torque converter. If you get antsy there, get a cam and headers.

I just ordered a corsa exhaust system, and my next item will definitely be a tune. After owning a K&N FIPK on my last truck, I am not convinced that the stock air box with a K&N drop in filter does not flow well enough for mostly stock applications.

I most likely gained 12-15 hp. See my quarter mile times below, I would say 50% was from exhaust and 50% was from better weather. I have the magnaflow cat back system #15818 and I love it. I was really worried about making the truck too loud and concerned about interior drone. Well, the exhaust is quiet in cruise and really doesn't have any drone. The only time it gets loud is during light acceleration from 0-40 at ~1800 rpm, other than that it's quiet.

good idea with the cutout, forgot about that. ya im not looking to mod-out this truck like my otherone, no need for it really. i just bought a rcsb 5.3 and im just looking to get an easy mid-14, nothing more. i figure i/cutout/hpp3 will do the job. plus its already got the 3.73 and locker
