Do LS car-style spark plug wires fit trucks with stock coils and mounts?
#1
I have MSD truck style wires, but as you can see in the pictures, they are just way too long and have a bunch of unnecessary slack. This extra slacks makes it very tough to keep them away from the turbo hot parts. I've seen LS3 style plugs that have basically two 45 boots on them and they seem to be a nice straight shot to the plugs. Anyone use these style?
Here are my current wires. They hit the rear heat shield and I've have to zip tie one over to the bracket to keep it from resting on the downpipe

Here are the types of wires I'm referring to when I say "LS car style"

Here is a Truck wire (red) vs a LS1 length. Keep in mind I have the coils mounted on the cover and the zr1 covers mount the coil lower so I can run the LS1 length. They won’t fit my other motor with truck coils.

I highly recommend getting the ceramic boot wires. They handle the heat much much better than the rubber ones. Turbos melt everything that touches the pipes. Been there done that.

I know accel made a set I installed for a guy, was pretty impressed with the ceramic boot. Trust me ive spent hundreds on plug wires keeping them melting, keep them away from the hot pipes, no amount of wrap or sleeve will save them if they are touching. Youll be chasing misfires until you are blue in the face.
