Default Do ARH Headers w/ Cats throw codes

I am looking to trade my 2010 6.2 in on a 2014 6.2 and am looking at having the dealer install a set of ARH 1 7/8" headers with cats as part of the deal. I am wondering of there are any issues with with programming these in or these cats throwing codes?

Sometimes no, and sometimes yes. But honestly, if you're installing longtubes without a custom tune , you're throwing your money away. Get them, get a CAI, and get a custom tune. You won't be disappointed.

I would rather have them install the headers if Chevy will warranty the work and I can tweak the tuning later. I have OBX headers on my current truck and have the o2's disabled. I know they won't warranty them if the o2's won't work. I figured the ARH headers should be much better quality and not have issues.

One of the dealers here did some engine mods on an LS3 camaro off the lot and Chevy approved the warranty, but the parts had to be brand specific. I'm not familiar with this dealers service department, so I'm not sure of their capabilities.

I'm waiting for feedback from the dealer on if they will do it.

The ARH cats are very good quality, but they are a high flow design. So the potential for cat efficiency codes is there. You might get lucky & not get codes, but you should understand why it MIGHT throw the codes.

This would be the same story for any brand of high flow cats.

You will throw a code because you are changing the location of the front o2 sensors regardless of the cats

I disagree with this statement.

I'd dang sure get that warranty in writing. The dealer may take care of you on a one one basis but GM's official is if its modded its not covered. The part that will screw you is tuning it once tuned warranty's out the window but in order to make most of headers and to correct afro afterwards a tune is usually always a must do. This is one of those gray areas.

That's what I thought about that camaro also, that they would have had to tune that car. The dealer told me GM did stipulate Lingenfelter parts on the internals for the warranty. I think that was a rare thing though. Most dealers dont want to mess with custom stuff.
