Default DIY LT headers install

k guys, im going to be installing some pacesetter long tubes and ORY tomorrow

I'd like to know some tips for this installation.

like
1. what torque specs are the header bolts supposed to be?
2. whats the best way to remove stock Y pipe without cutting
3. whats the easiest way to slide in the header (bottom or top)
4. what problems could I have throughout the install?
5. total time required

also, is an impact wrench too powerful for stuck header collector bolts?

3. bottom
4. take steering shaft bolt off, get ORY set in place before bolting down headers

If I were you I'd spray them down with penetrating oil like PB blaster. I broke 2 header bolts on my 99(one of them broke long before I even touched them). It will just save you the headache later.

Slide in the driver's side header from the top. The passenger side slides in from the bottom.

Also, as far as gaskets go, can I reuse my stock gaskets? Or do I need to grab a new set.

How about spark plug wires?

u really have to take the cross member out? I thought just unbolt from the manifold and from the end of the Y and then remove accordingly. But the penetrating lubricant is a really good idea

My pacesetters came with new gaskets. but unless the stock look real bad you could re use them.
your spark plug wires are fine, you can turn them a little so they wont touch the headers

I don't know what headers you are using, but mine have 3/8" thick flanges and the stock gaskets worked just as good as they did on the manifolds.
To protect the spark plug wires I purchased high temp sleeves. I had some plug wires that were touching the headers . For these, I fastened a stiff piece of copper wire to the plug wires then I slid the sleeves over them. Then I could mold the wires to stay off the headers.

I want to say the torque on the header to head bolts are 18ft/lbs. retorque everything in a few heat cycles. I used stock gaskets and new bolts. pb blast all bolts. I put in both of my headers in from the bottom, but I had it on a lift.
