Diesel in the 93 octane pump
#11
Diesel has higher lubricity than gasoline, if you did the opposite I'd say your in trouble but diesel in gas just makes it not run. Might want to replace your plugs once its throughly flushed out with gas.

Got the Truck back Thursday afternoon. pulled and flushed the tank, flushed the fuel line, Flushed injectors, changed sparkplugs & wires, inspected the pumps and changed an o-ring on something. Truck seems to be running fine.
I filled it up yesterday, at a different station lol. Not sure I will keep it too much longer, even though i like truck.
Thanks for all the replys

No reason to have a lack of trust.
Running diesel through it for that short of a time isn't going to hurt a thing. Guys on here act like diesel is made up of sand and fuel system eating acid. The initial response in here were way over kill and far reaching.
Diesel alone doesn't clog or tear up anything, if it did every direct injected diesel truck would need injectors and pumps replaced every day. They don't, they last damn near forever in most cases. I can't count how many diesels i've seen with well over 300k on original fuel pumps and injectors but somehow diesel in your truck is going to ruin the entire system in under 24 hours????
But let's play devils advocate, lets say your fuel pump or injectors go out, which they wont because if anything direct injection loves diesel, but lets just say it does. That's gonna cost you a couple of thousand.
I know some of y'all fix 2000 dollar problems buy spending 50-60k on a truck but I don't, regardless of what I have in the bank.

There's nothing in the fuel that should attack the subcomponents, nor it is a lubricity issue. But the internal clearances of diesel components like the injector and pump are not the same as the clearances designed for gasoline. So while some larger particles can pass through easily with a diesel system on a DI gas they can get in between components effecting whether internal parts can move relative to each other (internal valves, pistons, needles assemblies, etc). And it can take some time before they get into an area where they cause something to stick open or close.
On the plus side it's running well after the flush, which is a good sign. If he can put a couple thousand trouble-free miles on it, he's probably in the clear. So it's likely worth the gamble of keeping it in the meantime with the understanding there is still a chance an injector or pump might need to be replaced down the road. But that's up to him and his situation.

Do you have any links or anything on the clearance differences I can read on? That sounds interesting. I don't see why they would have different clearances they do the same thing.... but maybe that's why I need to read up on it.
I would sure think though, that if anything was gonna happen, it already would have. I can't see some remnant of something hiding somewhere waiting to come out later down the road.

Seriously, the newest vehicle I ever bought myself as a 2014. Paid cash. Was pretty excited, read lots of good things about that little 1.6 Turbo hotbox of ****
Finally got it my hot little hands after 2mos of waiting on shipping
6wks later some ******** totaled it...
so I went out and bought an $800 Ranger. Went back to what I know: broken piles of **** 😂
