Default Did i hurt anything?

Well i was sittin at one of the usual sittin spots tonight in town talkin to a few friends. Of course its loitering to sit out there so we were in our trucks. I saw a friend comming down the road and was just watchin him go by turned around kind of in my truck.. I didn't notice but my foot was on the corner of the gas pedal a bit and reved up hitting the rev limiter quite a bit(6000rpms).. I figured it was just someone else.(kinda retard moment). Scared me though when i found out it was me.

Afterwards i was checkin a bit to see if anything was hurt. Someone saw a little black smoke from the muffler. But i saw that nothing was wrong.. Actually it kind of ran a little better. So is there any thing that i am overlooking that couldve hurt my engine?

atleast your cats have been cleaned out... haha

the rev limiter is there for a reason.. If you hurt something by hitting the 6k rev limiter, you have done something.. ive hit my 6500rpm rev limiter doin a burnout.. so mine aint dead yet. So dont worry bout it.. at least your exhaust is cleaned out!

you wont have any power up that high on a stock motor, but it wont hurt to rev them that high i dont think.. . mine sees 6000 everytime i drive it, so you are fine.

haha nice, im sure that was a pretty sound

I don't have that many miles on my truck (14k), but everytime I drive pretty much it sees 6000. no TM feels real nice while shifting from 1st to 2nd now .

nothing to worry about, I have hit my limiter plenty of times. I think that cam can rev a little more higher more safely.

The fans are pretty cool.. I havent overheated yet. and ive towed 9klbs of sand, 5 4x4 hondas on one huge trailer, my buddies Eclispe, and i abused the snot out of it... So for sure, if you dont have any E-Fans, what you waitin on?? LS1 or LT1 fans are simple and easy to bolt in and wire up.

0%TM is awesome, add a Super Servo to the list and you get 1-2 shift rubber on the ground. I got a built tranny now, just waitin on my freakin Torque Converter to get here. My truck is sittin under the shop waiting. The stock tranny was still working after 150k miles and shifting very nice. I just wanted to be ready for the little extra power after the STS Turbo goes in.

Your fine. I have seen the red line plenty of times in my truck at 6300 without any issue..
