With my recent accident and the possibility of my truck being totaled, I've been looking at other trucks.

OK fine, it is what it is.

Long time friend at work says that no matter what I do to my current truck, I'll never be fast. He drives a ZL1 and just did a bunch of mods and dyno'd over 600HP to the wheels.

I disagree. I want to procharge my truck, not for a drag queen but for a fun, unexpecting DD (providing insurance fixes it).

What are everyone's thoughts? My friend is a great, knowledgeable guy but can be a dick most of the time.

I would think if I'm putting down 400HP at the tires that a procharger with 8-10lbs of boost would be fast(er).

 

Well thats just a dumb statement on his part, but "fast" is entirely subjective. Youll probably need 700hp to outrun his 600hp, which is not that hard to do really, just takes money.

I really don't care about being faster than him. I have to have four doors due to kids.

He even compared my truck to my old Mustang which with $6k worth of mods (engine, suspension and rear end) ran a 13.0 @ 104 blowing the tires off in 1st and 2ND gear.
