Default Deeper valve covers?

Hey guys,

It's official. The patriot shaft mount rockers do NOT fit under LQ9 valve covers (LS1 Speed's claims to the contrary not withstanding). So I am faced with getting valve cover spacers and longer plug wires (~$250-350) or relocating the coils and getting larger covers (which I like better for a $100 or so more).

The problem is the only deeper valve covers I can find are katech and are $559!! I was hoping for some nice polished covers for < 100...

There used to be some on Summit, but I can't seem to pull them up any more.

Any ideas?

Theres spacers for the stock valve covers too. Versus the pricey frikkin Katechs. Nasty Performance makes tall covers too, think they run like $300-320.

umm the spacers are like $250 for a set and you can use msd wires.

now the valve covers i wana sa go from 250 and up. the katechs are awesome but way too expensive. i also wana say it was nasty that had some and i believe they would weld all the little stuff on them also. but you will also need to figure the cost of the coil relocation. were as with the ketechs i believe come with wires for f-bods.

at any rate i have been in the same situation and ended up cutting the inside of the valve cover out to get it running. BIG mistake and caused a lot of oil consumption through the pcv.

at the time i needed them i think the only option was c5r's and the damn things did not even have a oil cap. the spacers are easy and i have had not trouble with them in 35 thousand miles.
