Smile Decided what power adder to go with!

I called C Motorsports today to ask them about their truck turbo system. I thought systems like the one they have, would cost 7000+, but I was amazed when they told me the kit will be offically out in November, and it will cost 5000! Then I had a whole bunch of questions, first the kit will come complete with a air to water intercooler, fuel injectors, I am not sure about a fuel pump? It doesnt come with the almighty T76 but I dont mind because I dont want to push my 5.3 as hard as Parish did his 6.0, and they were not sure what the normal turbo size will come with the kit, and of course the T76 is a upgrade at a additonal cost. I want to run 13 psi and achieve 500 rwhp, if the kit doesnt come with a fuel pump I will get a Walbro, also the question that I have for members is will I have to run meth injection to get that kind of boost? I am going to keep the exhaust manifolds and ditch the header idea and get HP tuners for christmas so I can learn how to tune . I will also have a 214/220 .600/.532 115+2 cam, hopefully it will work well. Now all I just have to do is get 5000 and I am not bull shitting here I am very serious about buying this kit I am going to put a lot of freaking hours in UPS.

I would like to learn to tune too. Tunes make good money! I could probably make a fortune just cutting these local guys speed limiters off.

The kit is obviously good at making power with the right tune. Just don't expect that $5k is going to cover it all. You will still need a tune, exhaust, injectors and pump if it doesn't come with it, guages, etc etc. Plus keep some cash saved up for when the inevitable happens.

Almost any power adder you do will end up costing much more than just the price of the kit when it's all said and done... I'm not trrying to discourage you. I just wanna give you an honest heads up

If you have the cash then 500rwhp would be NP but on a 5.3L it might take some work.... Then again, I did 436rwhp right out of the box and we didn't even know how to tune with meth back then. Hense my HP only going up 36hp from 4200-6700rpm LOL

Couldnt have said it better myself. You may want to go for the T76 upgrade. Power is addictive and you will always want more. I dont think you'll need meth with a good intercooler. I guess it really could only help though. You also need to factor in install costs, so get going.

Read that as transmision. The motor with a good tune may live a long and happy life. There is no way that the trans live to long life. The 4l60e is the weak link in our power trains. Some guys on here have killed there trans with just boltons, so leave some cash around to fix that

I killed mine with only cam, tune, headers, intake, and exhaust.
I bet my life that you will destroy the transmission within a month.

You will need at least another 1800+ if you go with a strong rebuilt 4l60. And on top of that, many builders will require that you use a new TC w/ their trannies. That is at least another 450. And on top of that, I promise you will not have ANY TRACTION. 400 bucks for a good diffy, and then 300 for some good rear tires.

And crap can always break... have money back for that!

I'm not trying to discourage you either..... I am letting you know what's real!

I understand what you guys are saying, but my friend that owns a local shop races with a guy that builds trans. for a living and he builds a awesome 4L60E. The 800 dollars was going to be the price of the parts, not including torque converter, so pretty much he would build it and install it for nothing. He build one for his friend that has a ex cab, 5.3 with cam, heads, pistons, and a ATI procharger that makes 550 rwhp and it still is holding up strong and believe me this guy runs the **** out of his Silverado. The kit I was told comes totally complete, with injectors, water to air coolelr, fuel pump, they made this kit complete. Tuning, well I plan on getting HP tuner and learn how to tune it. I dont think I will get a upgrade, well if the price is right I might consider it but it will make what it make horsepower wise. It will be enough to propel my RCSB 2wd, Oh I know the rear is a must the G80 sucks and I plan on replacing the 3.42 gears to 3.73's. A lot of money but it is going to be peak time at UPS, and I am starting to drive on Saturday deliverys, getting up at 3:00am to work double shifts, during the days and doing ride alongs to help the drivers! Its going to be a long 2 months.
