I haven't looked at the tune for my 2010, but there is major downshift delay - like 3-4 sec - very annoying and dangerous as far as I am concerned.

Torque management could cause a reduction in throttle blade opening on launches. No lag on my 2004 for sure.

yup sure is,i compared my dads 05 and dreks 5.3 05 to my 06, night and day difference, its also the year they switched from a semi adjustable throttle pedal (u can rock it heal to toe) to a solid plastic style, not only are the TB's alot slower the the pedal in the 05and earlier and alot touchier/snappier.

ill see if i can get some vids this weekend.

Edit: i should note that the closing speeds are the same, but from 0-100%WOT,not in a gradual motion, just hammerin on it,its so.. blehh

Electronic throttle in the trucks have been here since 01,only for those with traction control.
The 01 C3 denali was also electronic
2003 and up it was std.

The 07+ trucks are further lagged by the addition of the computer operating system. The throttle body control is 100% controlled by the PCM. The blades open slower, rather than snapping open, thus the lag from a dead stop. My truck runs like a scalded dog from anything more than a dead stop.

Alot of it is the PE Values and Tq Management, mine had a real bad 3-4 second delay while driving and then going WOT. Thats gone now thanks to a Wheatley tune.

A good tune will make a world of difference to the truck, but there will always be a certain amount of lag of the line.

Parke10 is right on the speed of the TB's. Although, I want to say the 06-07 classic body style trucks could be changed to a quicker opening throttle body by using an 04-05 throttle actuator control module. I know I heard about that from someone a few years ago, but would have to do some more research on it.

Interesting, i just put a NNBS 87mm TB on my 2004, and looking at the logs, the TB opens to 100% in 2 frames (0.241 sec)...

Definitely, just look for a reputable tuner that has some experience with these newer trucks. Mine is worlds different than it was brand new. I've got a few mods, but nothing major.

it seems like my 03 is super sensitive to any sort of throttle. I just hate the feel of the pedal versus a cable TB. However my 03 seems to have virtually no lag. Like other have said, try a base tune, if you still have problems talk to a tuner and see if they can figure out what you're talking about and fix it.

When looking at mine,it shows it opening fast as hell, i dont remember exactly how fast, but the blade itself was no where near as fast as the computer was showing it.
