Even for a 2500HD swap it looks like I would need at least the Deisel radiator & fan shroud in addition to the intercooler. Possibly would have to switch to electric fans depending on clearance. It looks do able though. Just need to price the parts.

This thing is one huge MOTHER-******!!!!!!!!!! Should get some really cool IAT's.
Anyway, here's the pics. We will take photos along the install and post them up tommorow night. If one of the mods could "Hostem & Postem" that would be great.

Runs at ambient temp down the road and temp only goes up a few degrees above ambient under boost conditions...like a 95% effency ratio or better! at 8 psi of boost on the old 350 engine I only lost .5 psi through this intercooler!
With built 383 I am seeing 6psi of boost with the 3.33" pulley after the IC.
7.3L Ford turbo diesel intercooler with a 30" Howe radiator and 295 dual fans...I have a tech article on the FSC site with lots of pics.
You got to be a member to see it though

Thats a nice set up there. Cant wait to see what the new engine will run.
Have you ever thought about buying some rear wheel spacers to get the rear tires out to match the front? I put some on my Blazer and it made it look alot better.

You are going to have to post a tech article when you get that IC installed! I think I was the first one to try installing a 7.3L turbo diesel intercooler on my GMC but I've seen them use this same IC in other cars and vans!
I've got 500 miles on the 383 now...my boy and I went for a test drive last night and got on it from 1st to 2nd and the SC puts out a solid 6psi of boost after the IC with the 3.33" pulley...lit the tires up on the 1-2 upshift more than it did before and this is at 2200 elevation. No pinging or funny noises I had to actual lean it up a bit on the base fuel to get the LT fuel dialed in...went with +10% more fuel at WOT along with the SFMU. More boost should be handled with adding more fuel pressure...I've got 25psi more to spare there.
Still getting use to the engine and tranny poly mounts...how much more vibration with the trans mount? Was thinking of putting that one back to stock.

Fpund this thread thought I would post it here also.
Just finished trying to install this intercooler in my 2002 6.0L HD. This cooler did not fit my truck. It is just to wide and front core supports hit on the driver side and the ac hose (hard lines) hit on the pass side. Has anyone got these to fit yet and if so could you post some pics or just send them to me. I am just about to order a custom cooler that will go in just behind the grill.
