Cutouts are too far up on the exhuast. Seems the perfect spot is right before the muffler.

I had the same problem too. I had my tune adjusted and it helped a some. But the x-pipe made all the difference in the world. It adds a little equal backpressure. I definately run faster with them open now.

I lost a tenth with mine open, and its before the muffler. When I was n/a, the truck was a complete DOG with it open. Sounded 5x meaner but lost a ridiculous amount of low end torque.

as far as the kr I would pull timing and try and get the mv down to the 900 range

I gained 2/10ths in the 1/8 with just a cutout but I have a different exhaust setup and a cam/heads that likes very little backpressure

waiting until headers get put on, But with cutouts open and under wot going past 5k rpms, oooohhhhh so nice (mouth watering sooo)

Idle not so nice, and rear view shakes so much can't even see on out it. loose change virbates around. and the bass of the exhaust nums your ears, all at idle. crack the throttle, mmmmm headers should clean up the idle sound waves, but don't worry I will swing the pressure balance back the other way soon
