The old school way to decide where to cut off your exhaust and dump it is to. spray a line of paint down the exhaust tubing where stops burning off is where you cut it off I woud think this would work well in theory to put your cut out... Just an idea

Thats an odd theory. My muffler must be 6 feet from the header and all paint on the muffler burnt off in a month. Maybe it was the 225 shot though.

I still have my cats and I put my cutouts after the x-pipe before the mufflers. I put them on just to have that loud, mean sound because my mufflers are pretty quiet and I didn't want to replace them. I am happy with the sound that I got.

I felt a loss in lowend power but over 2500rpm it pulls a just a bit harder than with them capped.

Sweet deal, now got to the track and see how much you gain over mufflers.

Yeah, I actually have heard the theory about the paint on the pipes to show where to cut it off. I actually used this method to locate my X-pipe. And in all actuality my x-pipe is pretty far back from the headers. I've probably got about 18-24" from the end of the x-pipe to the start of the bullet mufflers. The X-pipe is located underneath my backseats. So I am kinda torn between throwing the cutouts just before the x-pipe or just after. I know I will lose a little lowend either way, but just trying to minimize the loss and miximize the sound. lol

never heard that before sounds interesting
guess it lets you know where the exhaust is cooling off and really starting to slow down loosing velocity

I have mine after the x pipe. Having them after the x pipe will allow the xpipe to do its job and get the power out of it. The sound is awesome from them. Curtis you really wont notice that much difference in lowend with your stall. The power that I felt I lost with the cut outs open was gone with my tci stall.
